Students and staff at Harvey Elementary School have turned empathy into action this month, collecting over 300 boxes of cereal for the 51°µÍø Welcome Center as part of the school’s character focus on Empathy.
The cereal drive—organized by one of the substitute teachers, Justine Hammelev-Jones, aims to support local families facing food insecurity and highlight the importance of caring for others. The collection culminates in a colorful “Cereal Cascade,†where students line up boxes, watch them fall and cheer as they are delivered to the pantry.
